SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Thursday night in a hit-and-run crash involving an SUV on Interstate 5 in Arlington, according to KOMO News.

The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-5 at the merge to state Route 530 north of Smokey Point. It was first reported at 9:23 p.m. by Trooper Rocky Oliphant with Washington State Patrol.

Little information has been reported on the circumstances around the crash, but WSP said the motorcyclist was hit by a black SUV that fled the scene.

The rider was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries not considered life-threatening.

The causing driver and vehicle, which troopers say appears similar to a RAV 4 with passenger side damage, have not yet been located.
