WARDEN, WA – A motorcyclist died Monday when he struck the back of a semi-truck, lost control of the bike, and was ejected onto the highway.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim, 55-year-old James Boles. Boles was riding a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Road U Southeast Monday morning when his bike struck the back tire of a Peterbilt semi-truck.

Boles was thrown from the bike into the path of a 2007 Freightliner, which struck and killed him instantly.

When the driver of the semi truck, 38-year-old Oscar Cisneros Leal, realized what happened, he returned to the scene and cooperated with authorities. The driver of the 2007 Freightliner, 55-year-old Charles Keinholz, also cooperated with investigators.

This accident is still under investigation, but officials believe speed was a factor.
