Moses Lake, Washington (November 26, 2019) – A patrol vehicle and a pickup truck collided with each other on State Route 17 near Wheeler Road on Tuesday morning. Fortunately both drivers were unhurt in the collision, and no injuries were reported in the incident. However, the accident caused the front end of the patrol vehicle to be damaged.

According to the report, Corporal Jason Ball, a vet with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was going southbound on the highway with his emergency lights on around 6:15 a.m. Ball’s vehicle approached a pickup truck being driven by Lizeth Arellanos-Castrellon. Arellanos-Castrellon thought she was being pulled over and stopped in the middle of the road. Unfortunately, Ball couldn’t stop in time and struck the truck, causing damage to the patrol vehicle. According to the report, Arellanos-Castrellon wasn’t cited for the crash.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
