MAYTOWN, WA (THURSTON COUNTY) – A car accident at a Thurston County rest stop on Friday led to the death of a bicyclist and a dog, according to KOMO News.

The accident happened at the Maytown rest area, located about 13 miles south of Olympia, around 1 p.m.

A woman who may have been the victim of a medical episode drove her car into three pedestrians, four vehicles, and, fatally, the bicyclist with his dog. She is not believed at this time to have been intoxicated.

Authorities closed the rest area for about three hours for the investigation of the accident.
