Man injured in motorcycle crash while fleeing WSP on I-5 in Lacey

THURSTON COUNTY, WA — A 37-year-old motorcyclist suffered multiple injuries Tuesday while trying to flee a Washington State Patrol trooper on Interstate 5 in Lacey, according to KOMO News.

WSP had received alerts about a motorcyclist driving erratically in the northbound lanes of I-5 when a trooper saw the man riding in the shoulder of the highway.

Shortly after the trooper turned on his vehicle’s emergency lights, the motorcyclist rode into the median and crashed after striking a cable barrier.

The man was reported injured with a broken foot, broken ribs, and a concussion, though it was not immediately clear where he was transported for medical treatment.

Authorities said the rider was placed under custody for DUI.
