WENATCHEE, WA – A 59-year-old Bellevue man died from his injuries after getting thrown off his jet ski on Lake Chelan on July 3.

According to The Wenatchee World, Jeff Coffler suffered a cardiac arrhythmia after the accident. He died Friday, July 10, around 5 p.m. at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

Immediately after the Cofflers’ jet ski flipped over in the lake, the nearby Vandel family, who did not know the Cofflers, rushed to help them. Members of the Vandel family performed CPR on Jeff Coffler and flagged another boat for help.

First responders performed life-saving techniques including CPR for half an hour before Jeff had a strong enough pulse to be transferred to the hospital for treatment.
