Hoquiam, Washington (August 8, 2019) – A speeding driver was at fault for a car-truck collision on Riverside Avenue just before Riverside Bridge. Fortunately, no injuries were found on the scene. However, both vehicles on the scene were damaged and had to be towed away.

The accident happened around 11:51 a.m. The speeding driver was said to be late for work, and several witnesses reported the driver for speeding and passing other vehicles on the road. The service truck, which was towing a boat trailer, pulled into Riverside Avenue from 15th Street and the driver did not see the speeding car. When the two vehicles collided, the boat trailer bent and pushed it into the car. The driver was given a traffic infraction for the incident.

Of those accidents, 525 were fatal and 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
