Grant County, Washington (October 26, 2019) – A fire broke out in the area between Highway 28 and Railroad Avenue due to wind conditions on Friday evening. The winds caused power outages and downed a power line, which started and spread the wildfire. Fortunate no injuries were reported in the incident, and no structures were reported to have been threatened by the blaze. Grant County Fire District 13 and Command 2 from Ephrata firefighters responded to the incident and were able to contain the blaze to five acres.
