EVERETT, WA – Four people were injured when an ambulance carrying an injured patient with its lights and sirens on crashed into a guardrail on State Route 526 on Wednesday.

The driver of the ambulance, two paramedics, and the injured patient were injured in the crash, KOMO reports. One paramedic and the patient were taken by a second ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. on SR 526 near Evergreen Way when the ambulance encountered traffic and tried to maneuver around it. The driver of the ambulance was not cited for the incident, which is still under investigation.
