Ellensburg man accused of setting two hay fires, charged with arson

ELLENSBURG, WA – The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 24-year-old Ellensburg man for starting two hay fires on Tuesday night.

According to KIMA, Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue arrived at Anderson Hay & Grain Co., which stores hay in large barns, around 11 p.m. Tuesday to find two of the barns fully engulfed. Authorities located the suspect, Demarcco Covey, hiding in a shed near the property.

Covey was charged with arson and trespassing.
