OKANOGAN COUNTY, WA — A 47-year-old Everett man was arrested Saturday evening after crashing a vehicle through a fire closure on state Route 20 in Mazama, according to iFiberOne.

Washington State Trooper John Bryant said the man was heading east on SR-20 at around 6:40 p.m. when he drove his Ford F-150 pickup truck through the barrier, which had been placed to close off an area threatened by wildfire.

The man then proceeded to crash through another barrier before he was stopped by officers about two miles down the road.

The causing driver currently faces charges that include DUI, hit-and-run, and reckless driving. He was arrested and booked into Okanogan County Jail.
