WHITMAN COUNTY, WA — A 22-year-old University Place man was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a rollover crash on State Route 27 near Pullman, reports The Spokesman-Review.

Washington State Patrol said the man was driving north on the highway about three miles north of Pullman when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle traveled off the roadway. The car rolled an unknown number of times before it came to a stop in a nearby field.

The driver was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with undisclosed injuries.

Authorities do not believe the victim was impaired at the time of the accident and indicated he was wearing a seat belt.

An investigation was in progress as of Thursday.
