Driver hospitalized after crashing into Bellevue school bus

KING COUNTY, WA — A pickup truck driver was injured Friday in a collision with a school bus in south Bellevue’s Somerset neighborhood, according to NBC16 KMTR.

Authorities learned the truck was traveling south on Coal Creek Parkway when it crossed the centerline and into the northbound lanes near Forest Drive, where it collided with the school bus.

Crews worked to extricate the truck driver from the wreck and transported the victim to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police confirmed no other injuries were reported, and no minors were on the school bus at the time of the crash.

Bellevue police sent out a safety reminder to the public that indicated speed and wet weather conditions may have factored into the crash.
