Couple dies in three-car collision on Highway 24 near Hanford site

YAKIMA, WA – A couple from Sunnyside died in a car accident on Highway 24 near Cold Creek Road on Wednesday, according to the Yakima Herald.

The Herald reported that the victims were 61-year-old Teresa L. Medrano and her husband, 68-year-old Manuel P. Medrano. They were waiting to turn left from eastbound Highway 24 onto Cold Creek Rd when a Chevrolet Silverado rear-ended them, pushing their car into the path of an oncoming Ford F-350. The Medranos died at the scene.

The driver of the Silverado has been identified as 32-year-old Hilario Hernandez. It is not clear whether charges will be filed.
