Collision reported on SB I-5 ahead of SR-104

SEATTLE, WA – The Washington State Department of Transportation reported a collision blocking multiple lanes of southbound I-5 north of SR-104 this morning.

The incident was reported at 6:05 a.m. on May 6. Overhead footage taken from an area traffic camera suggests that as many as five vehicles may have been involved in a chain-reaction crash, at least one of which suffered significant front-end damage.

The right lane became blocked at 6:44 a.m. as emergency vehicles arrived on the scene. The wreck had been moved to the shoulder by 6:53 a.m., by which point traffic was backed up for two miles.
