Bicyclist injured, apartment building damaged from speeding vehicle

TACOMA, WA – Late Friday night and into early Saturday morning, Tacoma police responded to an incident at the 5200 block of South Puget Sound Avenue in which a bicyclist was hit by a speeding car.

According to South Sound News, two vehicles were racing on South Puget Sound Avenue when one of the vehicles weaved in between two bicyclists. One of the bicycles clipped the side of the car and lost control. The bicyclist suffered a broken ankle from this accident.

After hitting the bicyclist, one of the vehicles lost control and ran into the side of a nearby apartment building. No one inside the apartment was injured.

One of the drivers fled on foot; Tacoma police are searching for the suspect.
