Arlington, Washington (March 16, 2019) – The driver and passenger of a car suffered injuries when they rolled into a power pole after getting hit by silver Audi A4 around 2:45 am in the morning, in 15600 67th Avenue North East. The driver suffered head injuries and was sent to the Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, while the female passenger, whose condition was not fully clear, was taken to the Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington. The driver of the Audi fled from the scene and was later arrested.

The car slowing down to turn when the Audi rear-ended, resulting in a rollover accident. The lead car rolled into the power pole and broke it, eventually coming to a rest on its roof. The Audi rotated into a ditch and hit a tree. The driver reportedly did not check on the injured occupants of the other car. A deputy tracked down a man in 152nd Street North East who claimed to be the driver of the car. He is said to have told the deputy that he had been drinking alcohol. His blood was tested and he was put into Snohomish County Jail, where he is under investigation of vehicular assault and hit-and-run in an injury crash.

About Vehicle Accidents

Vehicle accidents are common and may happen more frequently than you think. In 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)  have reported a total of 120, 993 car accidents. Of those accidents, 525 were fatal ad 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. This type of accident where the vehicle has landed on their side can be classified under rollover accident and rear-end collision. In both types of accidents, expected injuries can include conditions as serious as brain and spinal injury, as well as wrist fractures, broken bones, and lacerations. Cars that are more susceptible to rollover accidents are lighter cars with a high gravity center, though it should be noted any car can roll over given the circumstance.

It must be noted that in Seattle in particular, the fairly mountainous geography and surrounding water has created for a road situation which includes many tunnels, bridges, hills and narrow roads that can lead to car accidents. We urge all drivers to practice caution while out on the streets. As was the situation in this accident, be especially careful on late hours, especially if the road is lacking sufficient illumination. It would also help to identify busy roads ad try to avoid being in their proximity to minimize any risk of a vehicle accident. Any mistake can lead to injuries and damage not only to your person, but on other people as well. Our sympathy and compassion goes to all victims of such accidents.
