Alder, Washington (April 9, 2019) – A man from Ashford was injured after he was ejected from his car following his car crash into the guardrail on State Route 7 near Sunny Beach Point and Alder Cutoff Road East. According to the Washington State Patrol, the victim was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma for treatment.

No charges have been filed, and police are investigating the cause. The victim was apparently traveling north on State Route 7 when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane near Sunny Beach Point and struck the guardrail on the opposite side. It is being determined whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

About Vehicle Accidents

To be ejected from a car, a strong amount of force or a high speed is probably involved, and neither of those two would be good for the human body. Being thrown from a car is bound to lead to many injuries, some of which can be potentially fatal. It is because of this risk that wearing a seat belt is so important while driving.

Unfortunately, this is not the only case that a car accident has lead to injuries. Vehicle accidents are common and may happen more frequently than you think. In 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)  have reported a total of 120, 993 car accidents. Of those accidents, 525 were fatal and 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. It must be noted that in Seattle in particular, the fairly mountainous geography and surrounding water has created for a road situation which includes many tunnels, bridges, hills and narrow roads that can lead to car accidents. We urge all drivers to practice caution while out on the streets. Be especially careful on late hours, especially if the road is lacking sufficient illumination. It would also help to identify busy roads and try to avoid being in their proximity to minimize any risk of a vehicle accident. Any mistake can lead to injuries and damage not only to your person, but on other people as well.
