ISSAQUAH, WA – Six people, including a 21-month-old and three other children, were hurt during a suspected DUI collision near the Tiger Mountain Summit on  New Year’s Day, according to KOMO News.

The accident occurred in Issaquah on State Route 18, at about 6:15 a.m., when a 39-year-old woman from Federal Way, operating a 1999 Ford Expedition, reportedly lost control of her vehicle.

The Expedition collided with a ditch, before rolling over multiple times across the highway, then coming to rest on the left shoulder.

The driver and her adult passenger, a 31-year-old man, also from Federal Way, were ejected from the vehicle. The woman landed in the roadway, while the man landed underneath the SUV.

The 21-month-old child was not properly restrained in a car seat, and was ejected onto the middle of the highway, according to the report.

A 3-year-old child and two other children, all wearing seatbelts, were not ejected during the accident.

The two adults reportedly sustained serious wounds, while the extent of the children’s injuries was not immediately available. All six victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver was reportedly smelling of alcohol, but a thorough investigation could not be immediately completed because of her grave wounds.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
