WHITE CENTER, WA – A 38-year-old woman died Wednesday night after she rode her scooter south on the northbound lanes of State Route 509 and crashed head-on into a car.

KOMO News reports that the accident happened around 11 p.m. near 112th St. Washington State Troopers told KOMO that the woman crashed her 2009 Genuine Buddy scooter into an oncoming Mazda.

The victim died at the scene but the driver of the Mazda was not injured. WSP closed the highway for about three hours to investigate.
