White Center, Washington (March 24, 2019) – A stolen car was used to ram into a deputy’s car at a traffic stop, and in the chase crashed at 10600 block of California Ave. SW, where it burst into flames. The deputy was not injured, and the thief fled the scene.

The owner of a stolen car tracked its location to a White Center neighborhood and called the police. King County deputies located the stole vehicle near SW 107th Street and 16th Ave. SW, and attempted to pull the car over. The thief then rammed the deputy car and sped off, until the car crashed and burned. The thief remains on the loose.

About Vehicle Accidents

While the circumstances of this accident are unusual, vehicle accidents themselves are not uncommon. In fact, vehicle accidents may happen more frequently than you think. In 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)  have reported a total of 120, 993 car accidents. Of those accidents, 525 were fatal ad 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. In Seattle in particular, the fairly mountainous geography and surrounding water has created for a road situation which includes many tunnels, bridges, hills and narrow roads that can lead to car accidents. We urge all drivers to practice caution while out on the streets. It would help to identify busy roads ad try to avoid being in their proximity to minimize any risk of a vehicle accident. Any mistake can lead to injuries and damage not only to your person, but on other people as well.
