The driver of the stolen car was badly injured and had to be take out through the sunroof as the crash had wrecked the car. Two Puyallup Tribal Police detectives were also injured from the crash, though their injuries were said to be minor. No other injuries were reported from the incident.

The stolen car seems to have clipped the police vehicle when the driver lost control. The stolen car also apparently hit a large rock in a yard at 72 Street East at the intersection of 44th Avenue East, causing its parts to scatter. The crash put the driver of the stolen vehicle into a hospital, but he has not been admitted nor was he booked into jail yet.

About Vehicle Accidents

While the circumstances of this accident are unusual, vehicle accidents themselves are not uncommon. In fact, vehicle accidents may happen more frequently than you think. In 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)  have reported a total of 120, 993 car accidents. Of those accidents, 525 were fatal ad 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. In Seattle in particular, the fairly mountainous geography and surrounding water has created for a road situation which includes many tunnels, bridges, hills and narrow roads that can lead to car accidents. We urge all drivers to practice caution while out on the streets. It would help to identify busy roads ad try to avoid being in their proximity to minimize any risk of a vehicle accident. Any mistake can lead to injuries and damage not only to your person, but on other people as well.
