BURIEN, WA – The Washington State Patrol has issued a press release containing further details about yesterday’s fatal motorcycle collision on SR-509.

Their investigation has determined that the motorcyclist was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle north of 128th Street, slammed into a guardrail, and was ejected. Despite wearing a helmet, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified as Allen S. Sutton, a 26-year-old resident of Bellingham, WA.

The two rightmost lanes of the highway were closed for two hours as emergency responders worked the scene.

An earlier version of the press release erroneously stated that Sutton had not been wearing a helmet at the time.
