UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal pedestrian incident

KENT, WA – The woman who was struck and killed by a semi-truck after she laid down in the middle of I-5 has been identified as 51-year-old Julia A. Villalobos.

Villalobos was walking down the southbound lanes of I-5 north of State Route 516 in the early morning of Wednesday, July 8.

Washington State Troopers confirmed that she waited behind traffic barrels until a semi-truck appeared. Then, she laid down on the road in its path.

The identity of the semi-truck driver has not been released but no charges are expected to be filed.
