SEATTLE, WA – An 18-year-old man was charged with the death of a 23-year-old pedestrian who was hit and killed while walking near Montlake Bridge and Shelby Ave on New Year’s Day.

According to KOMO, the suspect, Kyle Dickinson, faces charges of vehicular homicide and felony hit and run. The victim, 23-year-old Jared West, was a student at the University of Washington and was leaving a party around 1 a.m. when he was hit by Dickinson.

Dickinson is currently out on bail but will be arraigned on Jan. 14.
