Update: Bicyclist killed near Steward Park ID’d

SEATTLE, WA – The bicycle rider struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver near Steward Park in Seattle on Sunday evening has been identified.

According to Fox News Seattle, the victim was 63-year-old Mile Colmant. He was the deputy director of the King County International Airport-Boeing Field.

Colmant was struck head-on by a car while riding on Steward Park Avenue South near Wilson Ave South at about 7 p.m. Colmant had been riding with traffic when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck him.

Despite the quick actions of bystanders, who began life-saving efforts even before medical help could arrive, Colmant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking for the silver older model compact sedan that fled the scene. Witnesses said that its windshield was shattered, and the license plate might start with “BKU 053.” Anyone with information about the crash should call the police.
