Thurston County, Washington – Brush Fire Sparks Near Homes

Thurston County, Washington (June 19, 2019) – A brush fire which occurred on the area between the Interstate 5 north of the Grand Mound exit and Lawton Lane Southwest became a cause for alarm as it threatened several houses in the vicinity on Wednesday morning. Fortunately, no one was injured and no property loss has been reported in the incident.

The fire was first reported around 11 a.m. A response crew from West Thurston Fire arrived to handle the fire. At its peak, the fire was said to have spanned 3-4 acres, but was put out by firefighters before it could spread. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
