SEATTLE, WA – Three people were injured during a multi-vehicle collision in the downtown area on Tuesday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Pine Street at 6:26 a.m., when the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe was reportedly going at a high rate of speed. The Tahoe, a grey Kia, and a white Toyota collided.

The driver of the Tahoe, who is suspected of having been under the influence, was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was serious injured during the accident.

The third driver sustained minor wounds as a result of the crash.

The identities of the drivers have not yet been released.

Authorities determined that speeding and driving while impaired contributed to the crash.
