Spokane, Washington (March 30, 2020) – A hit-and-run collision involving two cars occurred on North Freya Street on Tuesday evening resulted in minor injuries. According to an article from The Spokesman-Review, the female driver of one vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The other driver, who fled the scene, was later caught and found to also have minor injuries.

According to information from the Spokane Police Department, the hit-and-run collision caused one vehicle to crash into a home at the 3600 block of East Frederick Avenue, with both the car and the house catching on fire. The crash was reported around 7:40 p.m. The other driver, who was suspected of DUI, fled the scene but was later caught several blocks to the east. Spokane firefighters responded to the fire and the fire in the home was knocked down around 8 p.m. The incident caused the intersection of North Freya Avenue and East Frederick Avenue to be closed until 8:30 p.m.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
