SPD motorcycle officer hurt after being hit by driver on Airport Way

SEATTLE, WA – A Seattle Police motorcycle officer was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Airport Way on Thursday afternoon, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The accident occurred in the 2700 block of Airport Way S at 2:57 p.m. when a motorcycle officer pulled out from the curb and was struck by another driver headed northbound.

The motorcycle officer, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

SPD stated that the other driver was screened for DUI, though they did not state what the results of the screening were.
