Sedro-Woolley, Washington – One Person Killed, Two Injured in Suspected DUI Crash

Sedro-Woolley, Washington  (April 30, 2020) – One person died and two others were injured in a crash involving three vehicles on Thursday afternoon. According to the article from KOMO News, a 27 year-old woman from the causing vehicle was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. She was reported to not be wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. In addition, the 26 year-old driver and a 66 year-old  passenger from the same vehicle were injured. The driver was treated at the scene while the passenger was taken to a Mount Vernon hospital for treatment. No further word has been given regarding her condition.

According to information from the Washington State Patrol, around 2:30 p.m. the causing vehicle, an Acura, sped east on Warner Street, running several signs in the process. When the Acura approached Township Street, it crashed into a northbound Mercury. This collision caused the Acura to roll over, ejecting one of the passengers, and the vehicle crashed into an unoccupied parked Kia. The report states that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash and that the driver of the Acura was a suspect.

Being under the influence of other substances brings down road awareness, as well as closing down reflex skills and attention.
