Seattle, Washington – Commercial Building Evacuated Due to Garage Fire

Seattle, Washington (November 10, 2019) – A commercial building on the 8200 block of 7th Avenue South was evacuated while crews from the Seattle Fire Department were extinguishing a fire that broke out in the garage. All occupants were reported to have been safely evacuated and there were no injuries in the incident.

The cause and circumstances of the fire has not been reported, but the Seattle Fire Department has reported it to be a case of small contents fire. Motorists were asked to avoid the area while crews were working on the scene, but it appears no roads were closed in relation to the incident.

It is fortunate that no one was injured in this particular case, and the firefighters are to be commended for their response. Like any other structure, commercial buildings must be checked for fire safety. Most if not all the steps in fire safety involve securing the area of one’s business or residence.
