A Washington State Patrol press memo revealed that the accident occurred at 1 p.m. Sunday on US 101 and Hamma Hamma Road. The 20-year-old victim was riding a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle behind a Ford F-150 pickup truck when the truck slowed to allow another car onto the roadway. The motorcyclist veered to avoid hitting the truck, crashing into the trees off of the roadway and falling off the bike.
The victim was riding next to a 27-year-old man from Kent on his own motorcycle, who was not injured in the accident.
The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in an unknown condition.
Both she and the other motorcyclist were cited for riding too close behind the pickup truck.
