Reckless driver collides with semi on I-5 in Dupont

DUPONT, WA – A major collision occurred at I-5 near Dupon-Steilacoom Road shortly after 2:30 a.m. this morning, when a reckless driver attempted to cut off a semi truck.

According to a tweet from Trooper Ryan Burke, the PIO for the Washington State Patrol’s First Division, the driver of the passenger vehicle did not seem to be impaired at the time. No injuries have been reported at this time.

The collision closed all northbound lanes of the interstate, and police diverted traffic to exit 119.

The scene was cleared sometime after 3:37 a.m.
