Port Orchard, Washington – One Person Seriously Injured, Two Others with Minor Injuries in Hit-and-Run

Port Orchard, Washington (December 20, 2019) – One person was seriously injured and two others sustained minor injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Friday night. The injured came from from one of the cars that had been struck and rolled over. The causing driver fled the scene and is reported to be still on the run.

According to the information from the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. Witnesses reported a black Chevy Camaro was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on the eastbound lanes near the Burley Ollala Road exit. The Camaro struck a pickup truck, which crashed into another car. The two vehicles were were knocked off the road and rolled over. The Washington State Patrol is looking for information on the crash and the causing vehicle, described as a 2010-2016 model year with front-end damage.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
