Orondo, Washington – Injuries Reported in Two Collisions at State Route 97

Orondo, Washington (February 5, 2020) – Two collisions occurred on milepost 220 of State Route 97 north of Orondo on Wednesday morning. According to the report from 560 KPQ News Radio, a semi truck-car collision and a three car collision were found at the scene. Some passengers from the incident were transported to a hospital as a precaution, but none of the injuries were reported to be life-threatening.

Washington State Patrol troopers initially responded to the scene for a report of a semi truck-car collision after 7 a.m., but found another collision on the site. The cause and circumstances of both incidents were not reported. The crash caused all lanes to be blocked at the site, and motorists were advised to use State Route 97A on the west side of Columbia River.

Similarly, victims of side collisions and rollover collisions also suffer may also suffer head and neck injuries, though the risk is lower in these types of collisions. In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
