One man killed, another facing charges in Thurston County DUI hit-and-run

PLUMB, WA (THURSTON COUNTY) – A man was killed and a woman was injured in Thurston County last night after another driver struck their car, then fled the scene, according to The Olympian.

The identities of the victims and the suspect were not revealed in the report.

The accident happened near the intersection of Old Highway 99 and Waldrick Road SE at about 9:30 p.m., when a 37-year-old man from Olympia allegedly collided with a vehicle driven by a 51-year-old woman.

The 37-year-old then attempted to flee the scene on foot but was later apprehended by police.

A passenger in the woman’s vehicle, a 54-year-old man from Olympia, died at the scene of the crash.

The female driver was taken to the hospital in Olympia with undisclosed injuries.

The hit-and-run driver is suspected of having been under the influence when the crash occurred. He is facing charges of felony hit-and-run, vehicular assault, and vehicular homicide.
