TACOMA, WA – One person is dead following a multi-vehicle collision on I-5 in Tacoma on Friday night, according to KOMO News.

The crash occurred on southbound I-5, near 84th Street, just before 5 p.m., when multiple vehicles crashed, including an 18-wheeler that jackknifed.

The truck reportedly swerved to avoid colliding with slowed traffic before it crashed.

A driver died at the scene despite the efforts of bystanders to help them.

Drivers were told to expect major delays, as the truck was blocking all lanes of interstate traffic.
