Moses Lake, Washington (April 18, 2020) – Two patrol cars were rammed by a suspect driving a stolen ATV in the area of the 800 block of Road Q Northwest on Saturday night. According to an article from iFIBERONE News, the deputies inside the cars were not injured. The suspect driver, 37 year-old Jarod Taylor, was arrested and taken to Samaritan Hospital, but was later booked into Grant County Jail.

The incident started when Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Moses Lake Police officers were searching for a stolen ATV. The vehicle was located near Road 2 Northeast and Road O Northwest around 7:20 p.m. The driver reportedly drove head on at a deputy’s car at one point but ended up fleeing along canal roads. Some time later, deputies responded to a report of a trespass in which an ATV was involved. Deputies responded to Road Q Northwest and boxed the the ATV in, at which point Taylor rammed one patrol car and shifted into reverse to ram the other. Taylor was arrested for several charges, among them two counts of second degree assault and felony eluding.

Of those accidents, 525 were fatal and 34, 311 were possible or suspected of injuries. In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
