Moses Lake, Washington – One Person Injured in Five-Car Pileup

Moses Lake, Washington (December 26, 2019) – One person was injured in a crash involving five vehicles on the southbound lanes of State Route 17 on Thursday night.The injured person has been identified as Deborah Landrum. She was taken to Samaritan Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. No other injuries were reported in the occupants of the other vehicles.

According to the report from 610KONA, Landrum was driving on State Route 17 when her car struck a Jersey barrier, causing her vehicle to roll and collide with two other stopped vehicles. These two vehicles in turn were pushed into the cars in front of them, which had been stopped at a stoplight. The crash damaged all five cars. The cause of the incident is under investigation, but drugs and alcohol are not being considered factors in the crash.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
