McCarver St blocked when driver mistakenly pulls onto railroad tracks

TACOMA, WA – A driver and two passengers narrowly avoided colliding with a train when the driver mistakenly drove onto railroad tracks near McCarver St and 30th St.
Traffic advisory! McCarver St is blocked between 30th and N Ruston Way due to a train vs vehicle collision. The vehicle was high centered on the tracks when the driver mistook them for the roadway and turned on to them. The 3 occupants all got out safely prior to the collision. pic.twitter.com/JEfCUEYKaX

The Tacoma Police Department reported via Twitter that the train and car were on separate tracks so there was a minimal chance for a dangerous collision. The three occupants of the car escaped before the train arrived. No one was injured.
