Lanes blocked for hours after I-90 crash on Mercer Island

MERCER ISLAND, WA – Multiple lanes were blocked for hours following an overnight car accident on Interstate 90 on Mercer Island on Monday morning.

According to WSDOT, the accident happened in the westbound lanes just past East Mercer Way around 2:30 a.m.

All lanes, and the entrance from East Mercer St., were blocked except for the HOV lane, which was open to all traffic.

The area remained closed until about 7 a.m.

Further information, including whether anyone was injured, is unavailable.

Update 2:37 AM : On I-90 westbound just west of E Mercer there is a collision blocking the lane.
