Kent, Washington – Motorcyclist Dead After Crashing on SR 167

Kent, Washington (June 6, 2019) – A motorcyclist died after crashing into the back of a construction vehicle on State Route 167 near South 212th Street just after midnight. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injury was reported from the crash.

The accident was reported around 12:15 a.m. The victim crashed into the back of a WSDOT vehicle, with the crash causing the motorcycle to burst into flames. Another car was also reported to have crashed into the motorcycle. The accident is under investigation. The road was closed for four hours as investigation was underway.

While motorcycles are a much-depended means of transportation, drivers should consider factors such as speed, number of other vehicles on the road, the road conditions and weather to ensure their safety while out and about. Be especially cautious when driving at night, as with any other vehicle. Any mistakes in judgement can lead to accidents, injuries and damage not only to your person, but on other people as well.
