Hit-and-run driver intentionally strikes, seriously hurts pedestrian

SEATTLE, WA – A pedestrian sustained severe injuries after being intentionally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Rainier Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The collision occurred in the 9100 block of Rainier Avenue S just before 1 p.m., when a pedestrian in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant had been intentionally struck by a driver.

The driver then fled the scene, and has yet to be located by police.

The victim was taken to the hospital for the treatment of severe wounds.

Officers with the SPD’s Homicide Unit were consulted during the investigation, indicating the severity of the victim’s wounds.

The victim was not immediately identified.
