BREMERTON, WA – A firefighter was pinned between two vehicles while responding to a car accident in Bremerton early this morning, according to KIRO 7.

The accident occurred near the intersection of 11th St and Washington Ave at about 2 a.m. when a woman crashed her vehicle into a parked car.

As authorities were responding to the call and assisting the woman, her vehicle accidentally went into reverse. A 50-year-old firefighter from Bremerton was pinned between her car and a police vehicle.

He suffered multiple injuries, including compound fractures in his legs, and was taken to the hospital in Seattle for treatment, including surgery.

The firefighter is expected to recover from the surgery, which went well.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident at this time.
