Fiery 7-vehicle wrong-way crash kills 2 on State Route 167

RENTON, WA – Two people are dead after a pickup truck hit a motorcycle head-on on State Route 167 at South 180th St on Tuesday night.

According to KOMO News, the causing pickup truck driver was heading southbound in the northbound lanes of SR 167 for 12 miles before he hit a motorcyclist head-on near Ellingson Rd. The pickup truck driver also hit a dump truck, which caused the fire. The driver of the pickup and the motorcyclist were found dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck did not sustain injuries.

The four other vehicles involved in the crash struck debris from the scene but no one was injured. Police are still investigating why the driver of the pickup was driving the wrong way.
