SEATTLE, WA – The driver of a stolen car collided with a Seattle Police vehicle in the Lake Union area early Friday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The collision occurred at 5:12 a.m., when an SPD officer was investigating a reportedly suspicious vehicle. The driver of the vehicle crashed into the front of the officer’s cruiser before fleeing the scene.

Authorities found the abandoned vehicle, which had been reported as stolen, a short time later.

Despite the use of K-9 units to locate the suspect, authorities continue to search for the driver.

No officers sustained serious injuries in the collision.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
