FORKS, WA – A man was taken by helicopter to a Seattle hospital after his minivan struck a logging truck on Highway 110, the Peninsula Daily News reports.

Devere W. Sanchez, 33, was traveling west on 110 when he lost control of his minivan at a curve in the road and crossed the centerline into the path of a fully loaded log truck. The vehicles collided near milepost 2 at about 10:54 a.m. Sanchez was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with unspecified, but presumably serious, injuries.

David Beebe, the 68-year-old driver of the truck, was unhurt.

Traffic in the area was brought to a halt as emergency services responded to the collision. It was eventually restored by 6:19 p.m.
