Driver attempts to flee after crashing stolen vehicle into construction zone

SEATTLE, WA – Police have one person in custody after crashing a stolen vehicle into a construction site in West Seattle on Saturday.

According to West Seattle Blog, the accident took place sometime before 2:43 p.m. at a construction zone near the intersection of 22nd Ave. and Delridge Way.

Investigators believe the unidentified driver was speeding when they lost control of the stolen vehicle and rolled it in the active construction zone. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Police quickly caught up with the individual and took them into custody. Their identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
