VANCOUVER, WA – A 59-year-old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday after colliding with a van at the intersection of NE 47th Avenue and Minnehaha Street in Vancouver.

KOMO News reported that 26-year-old Carlos J. Hoyos-Gonzalez was arrested this week in connection to this crash. Hoyos-Gonzalez had been driving a van and racing a Lexus sedan at the time of the accident. Police report that Hoyos-Gonzalez was impaired at the time of the accident.

Authorities say Hoyos-Gonzalez made a huge 270-degree turn in the intersection of NE 47th Avenue and Minnehaha Street while racing the Lexus. The motorcyclist, Mark Holm, had been riding behind the van and crashed into it. Holm died instantly.

Authorities are still investigating this collision and are searching for the driver of the purple Lexus sedan.
